Canal Cruise (Exmouth to Exeter)

Exeter Canal Cruise – Cruise along the oldest working shipping canal in Europe!

Join us travelling at a relaxing pace as we sail along Exeter Canal, sit back and soak up the scenery, watch the locks come to life, the swing bridge majestically open, before enjoying the seaside town of Exmouth or Exeter’s Historic Quayside.

This trip will sail through 8 miles of manmade waterway and make use of two manually operated locks at Turf Locks and Double Locks.

Including a trip under the M5 Motorway Bridge the boat will also cause the main Exeter to Dawlish Road to come to a halt as the Countess Wear Swing Bridge is opened to allow our passage through.

Ample public transport links are available including a glorious walk along the Exeter Quay on the banks of the River Exe to St Thomas train station where the trains run every 30 minutes.

Trip Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes approximately (one way)

Departure Point: Exmouth Marina (EX8 1FE)

For this cruise we often load onto the top deck in Exmouth and then unload via the bottom deck in Exeter, for this reason passengers on this cruise must be able to manage steps.
